Inspired by the earth’s natural resources and classical design forms, our line of hand poured terracotta lighting celebrates the inherent beauty of both. Historically, pottery produced by ancient civilizations, predominantly Grecian, provided the framework for the most distinctive shapes in art and design. Our pendant light explores the utilization of these historic methods of production and their subsequent application in decoration throughout design history. 

It is classical in its shape. Embellished with silk passementerie. Mahogany tassels contrast the organic surface of the terracotta dome with hard edges and rich tones. Fine twisted silk falls from a trapezoidal mahogany cap and lightly dangle from the bowl’s edge. 

The pendant highlights the beauty of the raw terracotta or “baked earth” and further explores historic manners of embellishment. Liquid clay is poured into molds to form its shape and low fired to an earthenware state. We intentionally leave pieces in a raw and matte state to further emphasize the intrinsic allure of the material - finely sanding its surface for a soft touch.

Each piece is handmade and unique. Slight variation in the material is standard, therefore we do not accept returns.
